Works well as a mast light. The deck light isn’t as bright but this is a good thing. It amply lights up the deck from the top of the mast without blinding you when you look up.

Easy install - Good visibility

I bought this for my last sailboat and loved it. Now I’m buying for my Catalina 30. Good value, bright light. Easy to install. The deck light is small but that’s okay. If you want to really light up your deck use spreader lights. However, this is good for San Francisco Bay and coastal

Pretty decent, especially for the price

Not a perfect light, but for someone looking at this price point for an inexpensive combo light, this fits the bill fine. The construction is as people have said, and to be expected at this price. However, as someone mentioned, a little heat on the flaps will let you curve it to fit most masts fine, without causing the separation issues that others have mentioned. I will agree that there are a couple screws on the back that do have the points out JUST far enough that, depending on mounting, could contact the surface. While an annoyance, nothing that a small rubber bushing, or minute with a file wouldn't eliminate. Again, it's not an expensive unit, so there are going to be some flaws. A little forethought towards mounting, and it seems to be just fine for casual use.

This was a perfect replacement for my Catalina 22

This was a perfect replacement for my Catalina 22. I had to use a heat gun to get the tabs to bend around the mast. However this was not difficult.
