This Five Oceans Arctic 900 Vertical Capstan is designed for simple, low-cost anchor recovery on smaller boats, and rope hauling on larger vessels. The vertical design of this series makes it suitable for smaller power or sailboats and can be utilized for anchor rodes, as a docking capstan on larger craft, or auxiliary line hauling. Offering above deck components with a high-quality marine-grade stainless steel finish.
Installation Details
Note for decks that are not flat, a suitable mounting pad may be required to take up camber or sheer. Decks made of a thin, foam or balsa laminate construction, will require reinforcement in order to spread the loads that will be applied to the deck while the windlass is in use.

Note: A Solenoid is required to operate the captain, we do not include this solenoid. You can use any solenoid that supports a 900W motor. An alternative is to use a footswitch similar to our model FO-4430 which supports 150 amps of continuous draw.
