Great light - Once mounted the cable makes a tight turn under the base and the Bulb spring becomes ineffective. Needs slightly higher spacers under the base so the LED bulb retaining spring can operate properly. Easy to mount from a Bosun's chair

Got this to replace an old anchor light on a cabin cruiser. It is very bright and pulls little power. I had to invent a mounting for it (at the forward edge of a solar panel) but the way the base is formed, that was easy. I also ran a little lubricant around the threads before I closed it up to keep out water and make it easier to open if I ever need to. It has been exposed 24/7 to all kinds of Colorado and Wyoming weather since June and has proven totally reliable so far.

Love the new led anchor lite. Installation was easy and we anchored. Very bright compared to the non -led. And it barely consumes any power.

It's rare that you buy a replacement part for your boat and it's easy to install and high-quality. The bulb burned out in the anchor light on my 1987 Catalina 27 and I tried getting an LED festoon bulb but it didn't fit properly into the socket. I also snapped off part of the plastic cover when trying to remove the old one so decided I should just replace the entire unit. Catalina Direct didn't have a good LED replacement option so I tried this one from Five Oceans. I was able to solder its wires onto the old ones and stuff them down into the extension tube, then mount the new light to the old pedestal using the existing machine screws. This light is nicely designed with a plethora of mounting holes around the entire circumference so odds are good that at least a couple will line up with the old. In this case, I was able to get all three existing screws to work with the new fixture. I'm hoping to get many years out of this light. The plastic lens seems quite durable and it has a rubber gasket where it screws into the base so it should remain weatherproof.

This thing is small, but it is BRIGHT! Easily meets Coast Guard requirements.
