Used these in a vintage trailer and the lighting was great!
Yup it's plastic not brass or teak wood. But it is a very nice product - not overpriced and not under featured.A good buy!
I would guess that the first question that people ask is "Does it put out enough light". The answer is yes. There are 20 white LEDs arranged in two circles. It puts out about the same amount of light as the 12V incandescents that people are used to. I had a dark corner on my boat where a fluorescent fixture had failed and I used this to replace it. Works fine. The "gold" plated plastic housing is .080 inches thick. I wonder how well it will hold up in a marine environment. The light output I would give 5 stars the housing 4 stars and the switch 4 stars. Anyway I am about to order three more because I am hopeful that the temperature extremes on the boat won't affect the plastic housing in the long term. There are no mounting screws provided but it is easier than other units to mount since the mounting holes are in the flange and the lens does not have to be removed to mount the unit.
